I took this shot while out walking by some lakes near St Albans. The only bit of the picture which is in focus is the top of the gate post, and I like the sense of mystery about the shot.

I shot this just over a week ago at Shad Thames in London, near Tower Bridge, with the Lensbaby 3G. It's a great spot for photography and I like going for a walk there for a few hours sometimes.

A piece of graffito seen at Hertford earlier this year. I like the sense of mystery...who loves whom? Taken with the 70mm lens (equivalent to 105mm in 35mm terms). Part of the "Urban Stories" series, which can be seen on my Facebook commercial page at

At St Albans again, I noticed the shadows caused by the low winter sun on the wall, so I waited in a good spot for people to appear. I had about three seconds between the shadows coming onto the wall and the people appearing in the frame. From the "Chasing Dreams" series.

This was taken just before the previous image at the cafe. It has an air of busyness or bustle about it.

This was taken recently with the Lensbaby 3G near Spitalfields Market in London. I like that the only thing in focus in the scene is a small amount of the plant. There's a slight air of mystery with many shots taken with this lens. My first blog

Hi,

this is my first blog, so if anyone's reading...hello and welcome to Grey Haven Photographic. Firstly I need to say a huge thank you to my friend Neil for both creating my website and working on my blog, so thanks very much Neil.

In this blog I'll be musing on all things photographic, and especially black and white, and uploading my latest pictures. If anyone feels the desire, please feel free to comment on pictures. I always like feedback, and criticism, both positive and negative, helps one's photography improve.

I've recently started ( Nov 08) using a Lensbaby selective focus lens (type Lensbaby 3G), and am in love with it! I haven't shot with anything else since buying it! It suits my picture-making style.
